Next time – vote quietly!
The on-going political turmoil here has shocked, angered and worried many people. I have seen it differently and think it is perfect. I see a huge opportunity for this country of ours to start anew. The recent voting pattern has been a reactive one, not a thoughtful one. Mistakes were made out of anger. People stayed away in protest, leaving the door wide open for bigotry and hate. If a general election is called soon – I shall vote quietly, for whoever offers new, intelligent ideas. My vote will count. I am surprised to find myself writing this post – have never considered myself a politico. And, I do see a real chance for new beginnings if we all just sit down, quietly for a moment before going to the ballot boxes when the time comes. Next time, don’t just sit down and stay at home! When I was a younger man, I would vote in the general elections. Yet in truth, I have never been that much involved, or for that matter interested, in any form of politics. I have been on this planet for some sixtyfive years now, and can honestly say, from my stand point, nothing ever really changed, no matter who was elected. I traveled a lot, I never went hungry, I always owned my own house, I had the most wonderful and supportive friends. I was not born with money, in fact we were a relatively poor family, yet even today as a so called pensioner, I have all that I need. I don’t believe, its who you vote for, that makes your life better, your life is up to you and you alone. Osho once said, “politicians cannot love, their agenda is power “
