Tony Parsons ‘The Open Secret’ Interview

Tony Parsons is the nearest I can get to what may be called a ‘teacher’ – he would deny this of course. However, his clear, uncomplicated, stark and steady words resonate with me. I also enjoyed the honest interaction between interviewer and interviewee.

For those of you who enjoy Tony’s clear ability to explain what cannot be explained – read his books: The Open Secret & As it Is plus many more!

The attached talk is by a neuro scientist about the experience of suffering a stroke.

Some similarity with Tony (left hemishere) and the same lasting inspirational resonance (Right)

I have considered for a long time now, about posting a comment, after watching the video of Tony Parsons. Why it’s taken so long lies in the long term friendship I have had the privilege of sharing with him. It spans almost forty years now.

As a younger man, he was a creator, a successful man, a man with flair and vision, a man with a love for life. And, at the same time – a true seeker. Even when I first met him, running his own business, he handled life as you would a precious gift. I strongly believe that Tony’s success in the business world grew because of the character he was. In his eyes everyone was a sweetheart and everyone was treated fairly, with respect, with love, with compassion, and with total honesty. I was then in my twenties and if I had known what charismatic meant, I would have called him that also. There was an air about Mr. Parsons that left you in no doubt you were in the presence of someone special. The beauty of that was, he also knew you were in the presence of someone special. Many of my friends in those days were not involved in the New Age, so it became a true delight to talk with him and join his first groups. A real mentor in my life, he showed me a direction without pointing, he was always willing to discuss with me the deeper aspects of life, and then, as a final gesture, tell me that there were no deep aspects to life! Frustrating – but a wonderfull learning curve.

It was no surprise that he wrote The Open Secret, or in the success with which it has been received. One phrase that remains in my mind is ” What ever you fear, will rule your life “
