Isabel Allende on Ageing

Finally attacking my ‘to do’ pile of filing this morning I came across this quotation from Isabel Allende. The light bulbs went on and I realised it was my own question also!    Persephone

“Perhaps old age is a new beginning, maybe we can return to the magic tune of infancy, to that time before linear thought and prejudices when we perceived the universe with the exalted sense of the mad and were free to believe the unbelievable and to explore worlds that later, in the age of reason, vanished. I have very little to lose now, nothing to defend; could this be freedom at last?”            . . . . From her book “Paula”
