Persephone Arbour

Wonder where the summer is? Down here on the Dorset coast it has been significantly absent! However, my son, daughter-in-law and four-year-old grandson didn’t seem to care too much. Beaches were still visited, walks made and old trains ridden on – perfect! Every moment spent with them was precious – and  -  I realised what a recluse I am by nature! To have the whole cottage all to myself again is bliss.

For me, this is the bliss of silence, doing things at my own pace in my own time, doing nothing, or working hard without being beholden to anyone. Selfish? you might say. Absolutely – what a relief not to mind that word anymore, no judgment at all. “Old age is a question of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter!”
