Courageous young people
What has been happening in Israel and Gaza has gripped our attention, whether we want it to or not. Sending out mass appeals is usually not my ‘thing’. However, the synchronicity of an imminent newsletter mailing and the enclosed link arriving in my mail this morning spoke loudly to me.
This letter of support is for The Shministim – a group of young, teenagers aged 16, 17, 18 and in the 12th grade. They are a new, brave breed of conscientious objectors in Israel. They believe in a more peaceful future for themselves and for Israelis and Palestinians, and are refusing to join the Israeli army. They’re in jail, holding strong against immense pressure from family, friends and the Israeli government. They need our support and they need it today. The enclosed links & video speak for themselves. Persephone http://www.december18th.org/
