Why did Osho change the traditional order used for The Three Jewels? At first I wondered if it was just a mistake that Sheela made when introducing us to them, but later I found discourses in which Osho referred to them in the order that was presented to us:
This piece came in originally as a comment on my article: Living Near Golders Green, which appeared recently. I thought it deserved more prominence, as I found it both moving and interesting.
Persephone, I thoroughly enjoyed your piece on Golders Green. Your words brought back memories of so many things I experienced when deciding to [...]
You really do have to laugh. Yesterday I posted my response to the idea of a new Osho commune. Today, from a website that sends me such gems: http://www.mysamasati.com – I receive this:
NOTHING ELSE IS POSSIBLE
persephone,
You come to me seeking knowledge. You want set formulas so that you can cling to them. I don’t give [...]
A recently received document from an old and dear friend has prompted my response below. This document, written by a young woman at great length, talked about the failings of the whole movement around our guru Osho, after his death. She also talked (in my opinion, totally spuriously) about the idea of creating a new commune. It was a political letter, with political and hidden personal aspirations that I found quite alarming, and based on untutored knowledge. This is my personal rebut, written to my friend, and also forwarded on to the young woman concerned.
The following article was sent to me by a friend who is a Humanist. He also posed this question: “Persephone: I wonder what our statistics in G. Britain are? What are your reactions to this piece?” ‘To each his own’ is my reaction. I know this article applies to the USA, but I also know [...]
This lovely poem, another daily offering from Panhala, seems so appropriate at the beginning of the school year . . . .
What will
our children do in the morning?
Will they wake with their hearts wanting to play,
the way wings
should?
Will they have dreamed the needed flights and gathered
the strength from the planets that all men and women [...]
James has been corresponding with me for a few months now. He has also been generous enough to reply to many of the postings on this site. Today he sent me this poem. Normally I keep poems solely for the news letter. This one, however touched me deeply by its innocence as well as its [...]
So many of you logged into Gangaji’s piece that I thought you would like to see her and hear her in person.
For me this clip is very meaningful – to see one of my dearest teachers talking with one of my oldest and dearest friends is a joy. They talk about questions and concerns that affect us all. Persephone

Several times over the last decade I have represented a holistic and new age approach at conferences and in the media, and have often been told, ‘Yes, it seems like there is a substantial movement – but where are the numbers, the core beliefs and the ethical code?’ In one academic description of this new spirituality, the author actually suggests that we have no chance of getting heard because it is doubtful that we can network and organise. Let’s surprise him.
