Inspired to dig deeper on the subject I have just added here, on Obama and the Native American. Web search for Obama and Native Americans revealed this site (one of many):
http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/view/72336 well worth reading and following up in a year’s time to see if the change Obama speaks of really reaches the Native American people. I would like to see Obama walk the walk not just talk the talk on this issue. Is there any reason at all that he should not or cannot support their requests? He of all people must know what it is like to be in a minority group. I would add, in fairness, the search revealed Native Americans for Obama as well as against. Fascinating subject well worth pursuing in my view. By the way my Mother is 85 and I think she really hit a thought provoking subject with this one! I want to hear it for the Native Americans please.

I sat yesterday with my Mother to watch the Inauguration of Obama. My mother said ‘I wonder what the American Indians think of all this’. It set of a chain reaction of thoughts for me. While the Obama story is truly historic, and nobody would deny this, how must the remaining ‘original’ Americans feel, the Natives Americans. First giving up their land to white men and now accepting an African American president and what is being seen as a victory for them. I cannot help thinking how much more monumental it would have been if a true Native American could have become president. Is it possible that there is a young person out there who will be inspired by Obama to make another kind of history?

I too hope that Americans vote for Barack Obama. As An Australian I am keenly watching the lead up to the Presidential election. I agree he is an amazing man, very inspiring. I think he is the man the world needs as US president. I hope enough Americans agree with me.

I too hold your dreams that the American public will realize what we have been given in the form of Barack Obama. I watched the first Presidential debate last night and I was so proud to be a supporter of Senator Obama. He is such a fresh breath of air in his insightful answers, strong convictions, and most of all, hope for the future. I too hope that we are able to realize that the right person has appeared to lead us in this, our time of need.
